1000 Skies was proud to be a part of Times of Israel’s first annual gala on February 15, 2015 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. The Times of Israel is an online newspaper designed to document developments in Israel and around the Jewish world. the program included some of the most inspirational figures in the Jewish world including Shimon Perez, Bar Refaeli, Gal Gadot, Omri Caspi, Robert Kraft and many more.
Israel at APAP
1000 Skies loved attending APAP on January 9, 2015. APAP, the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, holds a conference every January in New York City for artists, producers, and vendors to meet and discover each other. 1000 Skies worked out of the Israel on Stage booth at this year’s conference. Israel on Stage is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to create a platform for Israeli artists to showcase their talents.

Filmmakers at the Academy
On October 27, 1000 Skies spent the evening watching unique and sometimes even tear-jerking films at the Taliesin Nexus Screening Showcase at the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study in Hollywood. Taliesin Nexus is an organization that serves as a connection between up-and-coming filmmakers and industry professionals to create and learn from each other. The screening included 10 short films by various filmmakers who all share the passion of producing and directing films.
The Big Day of Celebrating 10 Years
On July 1st, 1000 Skies celebrated its 10th anniversary at Skylight Gardens in Westwood. In addition to the excitement of having reached 10 years, Leah Bleiweis launched her second company, Your Big Day Of, that night as well! The two go hand in hand as a PR company and a day of wedding planning business. Being surrounded by great friends and family celebrating the last 10 years and looking towards the next.

Following the unbelievable success of Kaveret's (poogy) reunion shows in Israel, which sold over 150,000 tickets, the creator and the leading force behind the success of this this legendary band, Danny Sanderson, can to Los Angeles as part of a US tour. With his 7 piece band he performed hits from Kaveret, Gazuz, Doda as well as his own hits from his 40-year career.

We are excited to be working with Dance O Plex management Chava Caiyem and Kobi Rozenfeld, of the Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble. Their grand opening celebration took place on Saturday, December 7 and included a meet-and-greet with So You Think You Can Dance superstar Will Thomas!
Dance O Plex will also be holding auditions for its studio dance company on Sunday, December 15: 11-18 year olds welcome!

Idan - SOLD OUT
On October 10, 2013, world-renowned Israeli singer/songwriter Idan Raichel performed for a sold out crowd of 1,800 fans dancing and singing along at UCLA’s Royce Hall.
Known as “Man of the Year” by Israel’s popular entertainment magazine Pnai Plus and often recognized for his ability to unite cultures through music, his message reached as far as the White House. By personal request from President of the United States Barack Obama, Idan Raichel dedicated a song in memory of journalist Daniel Pearl as part of Daniel Pearl World Music Days, while his father proudly watched from the audience.
Record Breaking Inagural Gala
October 6 was a historic night at The Beverly Hilton as American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA)’s, first-ever Los Angeles Gala raised a record $3.8 million for Magen David Adom that will go towards emergency medical services and the building of a new National Blood Center in Israel. The amount was the most ever raised at a single AFMDA event. During the ceremony, Dina and Fred Leeds were honored with the AFMDA Humanitarian Award. The sold out event featured a legendary performance by singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka, a hilarious Emmy-Award winning comedian Jackie Mason, and a tear-jerking piano prodigy Ethan Bortnick, at only 12 years old. Along with them were performances by Mona Golabek, Scott Hoying of the Pentatonix, and Gary Green and his Big Band of Barristers.
Industry titans in finance, business, and entertainment lent support to the cause, including former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams. Professor Eilat Shinar, MDA’s Director of Blood Services and a world expert in blood management, was the evening’s guest speaker. Israel’s Consul General to Los Angeles, David Siegel, opened the event. California Congressman Brad Sherman’s office presented the Leeds family with an official American flag that once flew atop the U.S. Capitol.
An after-party for AFMDA’s NextGen and Young Leadership, featuring 35 partner organizations, followed the Gala at The Beverly Hilton.

30 Years of Dance
A behind-the-scenes look at contemporary dance company Keshet Chaim gives audience a chance to see what happens before the curtains open. Celebrity host Yafit Josephson took us on a journey through the history of Keshet: from 30 years ago with artistic director Eytan Avisar straight through pre-show rehearsals. The show also introduced daugther of Israeli royalty, singer/songwriter Meshi Kleinstein with the new generation of Keshet Chaim. The dynamic multi-faceted ensemble has been praised by international press for passion and originality.
Launching into Fame
Circa three years after launching New Eye’s, a fascinating one-woman show, original producer,1000 Skies, came to supports Yafit at her show that has changed a community. New Eyes explores universal themes of self-esteem, family relationships, identity and cultural differences. Yafit Josephson embodied 18 characters from 5 countries throughout the play to convey her feelings and opinions of the world through her eyes.
The St0ry - a Re-Thinking Conference
The St0ry is an experiment, a new think tank for digital innovation, the first incarnation of which was a two and a half day, invitation-only gathering in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2013. Thirty creators - and guest catalysts - came together for exploring and exploding the boundaries of storytelling. Afterward, Kevin Smith said, “The St0ry ended up as one of my favorite creative highlights of this year.”
The gathering was made possible by grants from ROI Community and Taglit-Birthright Israel, convened by Jacob Shwirtz and produced by 1000 Skies. Expenses, including travel, room, board and conference fees were covered by the organizers.
